General Event Questions

 Is Tour de Meeker a ride or a race?
  • Tour de Meeker is a ride, it is NOT a race. Ride safe and respectfully.
Is the route closed to traffic?
  • No. Tour de Meeker participants must obey all traffic laws during the ride.
Do I need to wear a helmet?
  • Yes, helmets are mandatory.
Will there be rest stops along the route?
  • Yes. There are 4 rest stops (available on the 25, 50 and 62 mile routes) along the routes that include refreshments and snacks. Exact locations are being finalized and final details will be communicated on ride day.
What if my bike breaks down on the route?
  • Tour de Meeker is a fully supported ride thanks to our friends at Bikes by Bob in Litchfield, MN. SAG vehicles are on patrol throughout the route, and we'll have bike mechanics at the start of the ride. If your bike breaks down on the route, stay where you are and call in to Tour de Meeker HQ (contact number to be provided on day of event). A SAG vehicle will be along shortly to pick you up. In case of an emergency, call 911 immediately.

Registration Questions.

Can I register the day of, or the day before the ride?
  • Yes. Onsite registrations will take place at Meeker Memorial anytime after 6:30am.
Refund Policy:
  • No refunds or transfers are allowed for any reason at any time including ride cancellation.
Weather Policy:
  • Tour de Meeker reserves the right to delay the start of the event or to cancel the event. The safety of all riders is our primary concern. Conversations that could lead to the cancellation of the event will be made with the help of local law enforcement.
Parking at Meeker Memorial for Tour de Meeker:
  • Participants in the Tour de Meeker are asked to parked in two designated area: the West Parking Lot or the North MMH Employee Parking Area. You can view a map here.

Safety Stuff.

  1. Obey ALL traffic laws - ALL the time!
  2. Stop at stop signs - even when no one else is around!
  3. Make sure your bike is in good, safe condition for riding - BEFORE the ride.
  4. Personal Listening Devices (mp3 players, iPods, Bluetooth earbuds, headphones, etc.) are NOT allowed.
  5. Ride no more than 2 abreast.  Plan to ride single file for much of the ride. Ride as far to the right as safe and practical.
  6. Communicate to other riders by loudly saying - car back, on your left, stopping, slowing, pothole, sand, glass, right turn, left turn, etc.
  7. Communicate with hand signals for turning, stopping, road hazards, etc.
  8. Wear a properly fitted and fastened helmet.
  9. Finally, and more importantly, enjoy the ride!
